As scriptwriters for and producers of the documentary Derrière chaque image, une histoire, Marie-Carole Noël and Elisapie Isaac had a front-row seat to the investigation into photographic archives aiming to name the thousands of Inuit and Indigenous people portrayed in anonymous images. In turn, they point out the benefits of such a project. The communities were able to reappropriate their past, individuals regained pride of identity, and the elders played a highly important role.
